Nikita Gills poems are profound and compelling. I was able to connect on most of the poems and I really enjoyed it! Gosh, some of it struck my heart. The reason why I didnt give this five stars because some of them are redundant especially on the middle part. Still, I recommend this poetry collection.

In this book I realized so many truths. I found myself among these pages, and at the end I felt refreshed. Renewed.

"The stars do not bring people back. No matter how much you miss them or need them. No one tells you that hope can sometimes be a dead thing. Just like no one ever tells you that you are wishing upon dead stars."

I was told that I was too hopeful, once. That was difficult for me to understand because without hope, what do you have? What do you hold onto?

i loved all the words, from the beginning to end, you should definitely give it a go!! here are two of my many favourite poems:

I thought Your Soul is a River was just "okay." It wasnt horrible, but I went into it expecting to have my mind blown, and that moment of epiphany just never came.

There were a couple of poems that I really liked, like this one:

"The river has taught me
more about my soul
than any person
I have ever known.

How to adapt to any vessel
How to dream in fluid motion
How to love and then to let go."

But the rest of the poems... just fell flat for me.

The rating is purely for "The Cosmos" and "Heal" sections, as I felt these were the only ones I connected with. Ive read the entire collection, and I thought many of the poems were beautifully written, but the other sections are simply not relevant to me at point in my life. I wouldve probably appreciated them in my teenage years/early 20s.

Nikita’s writing is gorgeous and visual, I cannot wait to read her next book. Although I didn’t connect with too many of the poems here I got an intro to Gill’s work and am beyond exited to see what she writes next
